Introduction to Muslim Youth Work
This is our flagship course that will help you to explore the salient features of youth work and how religious values can be applied to working with Muslim youth. It has been specifcally designed for Muslim workers and is ideal if you want to gain a better understanding of how to explore youth work, faith and culture in a Muslim context. No previous experience of youth work is needed.
This course is now online due to COVID-19 restrictions and will be over 4 x 2 hour sessions. If you choose to take the accredited route, a portfolio will need to be submitted. You will be supported to complete your portfolios. Some additonal work in-between sessions will also need to be completed. All support post course will be provided.
Overview of course
The UK accredited* course will explore the unique process of youth work and why youth work is an effective tool when engaging young people. It will also look at the unqiue skill sets of youth workers, how religious values can inform youth work and how Muslim organisations can start to create a needs-led practice. The course will also look at case-studies as examples of good practice.
