Every child needs custom support

Increasingly, school children are struggling to cope with many issues including their mental health. These issues can stem from many sources, and some include a stressful home environment, divorced parents, lack of adequate educational support and financial pressures. In fact, a survey suggests that more than a million school children worry about family not having enough money.
Good mental health is fundamental to being able to thrive in life. If we’re not tackling mental health problems early, then we risk failing the next generation right at the start of their lives.
There is a rise in the rates of depression, anxiety and self-harm in children and young people, which isn’t adequately dealt with within schools due to resource constraints and often times, the lack of training and capacity of school staff. This is true especially when it comes to Muslim children.
These sessions will help children understand and deal with any pressures currently being faced, through a faith-sensitive approach. This reference to faith is so important! I have headed a weekend Qur’an School for over 5 years and worked in schools and I have dealt with it all! There are so many pressures and challenges for our youth.
Children will develop coping mechanisms so that they become resilient to pressures.
The sessions will be 1 hour long and be over a 6-week period.
There will be exercises set between sessions to help keep a track of progress
